Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Football Association GFA Randy Abbey beleives the Black Stars will improve in their return leg game against Angola on Monday.

Ghana recorded a 1-0 win against the Palancas Negras of Angola in the first leg of the doubleheader of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON qualifiers at the Baba Yara Stadium on Thursday.

Antoine Semenyo scored in the 96th minute as the Black Stars maintained their perfect run in the qualifiers.

Ahead of the return game in Luanda at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, Mr Abbey believes the team will improve.

“A very difficult game, the weather was not too kind to the players in the first half, but I think the changes in the second half really helped our game,” he told Kumasi-based Akoma FM.

“I’m happy we won. I’m sure the Black Stars will play better in Angola on Monday.”

He also called for support for Chris Hughton following the hard-fought win.

“I think it’s a good start for Chris Hughton and we need to keep supporting the team,” he added.

The game in Luanda has been scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT.

Ghana sit top of Group E with seven points. The Black Stars are aiming to end the country’s 41 years Afcon trophy drought in Ivory Coast next year.
