Chris Hughton, the new coach of Black Stars, has announced his 25-man squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola this month.

The majority of the squad consists of players who were part of Ghana’s World Cup squad in Qatar last year.

Notable additions to the team include the in-form forward Joseph Paintsil and returning players such as Joseph Wollacott, Majeed Ashimeru, Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, and Edmund Addo.

The squad is led by captain Andre Ayew and features other key players such as Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, and Mohammed Kudus.

Baba Rahman has been left out, along with youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

Hughton hopes his team can secure two positive results against Angola to boost their chances of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ghana will host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on March 23 before travelling to Luanda on March 27, 2023, for the reverse fixture.

Ghana is joint top of the Group E table with four points from two games.

The defenders are Tariq Lamptey, Denis Odoi, Gideon Mensah, Patrick Kpozo, Daniel Amartey, Joseph Aidoo, Mohammed Salisu, and Alexander Djiku.
